AP Participation by Race/Ethnicity
Minnesota and National: 2011-12 School Year
Minnesota students of color had a lower percentage of grades 3 to 5 on AP exams than white students. However, Minnesota test-takers did better than students nationally, except for Asian students in Minnesota. An AP grade of at least 3, on a scale of 1 to 5, is an indicator of an ability to do successful work at most colleges.
The number of Minnesota test-takers who were students of color increased 11 percent from the previous year. White students increased 4 percent.
