Dream a Little Dream

As a student, it may seem like you don't have a whole lot of choices.

As an adult, it sometimes may feel like you have too many choices.

Along with the freedom to make choices come some tough questions: Who will I be? What do I like to do? What's important to me? Where am I going?

So what do you dream about when you think about your future? Think for a moment.

It's hard to imagine sometimes, because there are so many possibilities. But thinking about these questions now means more opportunities for you in the future. There's no right or wrong answer. You just have to think about a direction.

Dreaming is fun. But just dreaming won't make a dream come true. You can do anything you want, but you have to work to reach those dreams.

Aptitude or Assessment Tests

An important first step is learning who you are, what you like and what you're good at. A good place to start is with an aptitude or assessment test. Such tests can help you determine which career may be a good (or bad) fit for you based on your personality, interests and skills.

And there are a lot of different ones out there. Some of the more common tests are the Myers-Briggs, Keirsey Temperament Sorter, Holland Assessment and IDEAS (Interest Determination, Exploration and Assessment System). Take our interest assessment.

Remember, the sole purpose of an assessment is to help YOU understand YOU better...so that you're better prepared to achieve your dreams.
