Scholarships Offered By Minnesota Institutions

Below are some of the scholarships offered by the college you selected.

Residence Hall Scholarship

All first-year students that earn a Presidential Academic Scholarship will also be eligible for a Residence Hall Scholarship. Must be admitted by March 1st and complete a housing agreement no later than May 1st.

Award Amount: $500-$1,000
Renewable? Yes, Up to 4 years with minimum GPA and credit load requirement.

Transfer Student Scholarships

Transfer students should demonstrate achievement with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5/4.0 among their college level, transferable credits. Phi Theta Kappa and Alumni Scholarships are also available. New transfer students admitted to SCSU prior to March 1st will automatically be considered for a Transfer Student Scholarship.

Award Amount: $1,000 - $3,000

Cultural Diversity Scholarships

Awarded to new students who contribute to the cultural diversity of the University, based upon application for admission. Must demonstrate strong academic achievement through their high school curriculum, academic record and standardized test scores. Preference given to students with financial need.

Award Amount: Varies
Renewable? Yes, with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and a minimum 12 credit load

Endowed Scholarships

New incoming first-year students who are in the top 25 percent of their high school class and new incoming transfer students who have a 3.0 or above, who intend to enroll full-time are encouraged to apply. Leadership skills, strong community and extracurricular involvement considered. Some scholarships give preference to students with financial need. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Renewable? Yes, Renewability varies with a minimum credit load requirement.

First-Year Student Scholarships

Awarded based on student's high school academic record and standardized test scores. Must earn traditional admission into the University and have official ACT or SAT scores on file with the Office of Admissions. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Award Amount: $3,000 - $20,000
Renewable? Yes, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a minimum credit completion rate.
Deadline: Admitted to SCSU by March 1st

Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship

Awarded to students who do not otherwise qualify for in-state or reciprocity tuition. Applicants must rank in the top 15 percent of their high school class or earn a minimum composite score of 25 on the ACT. Transfer students must have a 3.0 gpa and at least 24 transferable college credits. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Award Amount: Recipients pay the equivalent of in-state tuition
Renewable? Yes, this award is renewable for students throughout their continuous enrollment towards a bachelors degree.
