Gold Scholar Award

Preference is given to National Merit Finalists who declare the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities as their first-choice college by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation deadline.

Award Amount: $10,000 each year for four years

University of Minnesota Academic Excellence Scholarship

Academic scholarship awarded based on an overall assessment of each admitted student's academic preparation and performance, as well as the additional information provided in the admission application. Minnesota resident or Minnesota Dream Act eligible, interested in English/creative writing, fine arts, foreign language, math, science, or social studies.

Award Amount: $6,500 each year for four years

U Promise Scholarship

Under the University of Minnesota Promise Scholarship (U Promise), eligible new Minnesota resident (or Minnesota Dream Act eligible) undergraduates with a family income of up to $100,000 will be guaranteed a U Promise Scholarship. Eligible new freshmen will receive a need-based scholarship, ranging from $570 to $4,000 each year for four years. Eligible new transfer students will receive a need-based scholarship, ranging from $640 to $2,000 each year for two years.

Award Amount: $570 to $4,000

Renewable? Yes:
with satisfactory academic progress, must continue to meet eligibility requirements and complete a FAFSA.
