Alumni Referral Scholarship

Alumni of St. Scholastica can help out a prospective student by completing the Alumni Referral Scholarship. This scholarship is for first-year students and is up to $600 annually, totaling $2,400. * Please note that students can receive either the Alumni Referral Scholarship or the Catholic Referral Scholarship, but not both. Catholic Referral Scholarship

The Catholic Referral Scholarship is a $600 annual scholarship, totaling $2,400 for students who have a referral form filled out by a priest, sister or other vowed religious. However, lay persons with leadership positions within the Catholic Church also may make referrals. * Please note that students can receive either the Alumni Referral Scholarship or the Catholic Referral Scholarship, but not both.

CSS Catholic United Scholarship Match

St. Scholastica is partnering with Catholic United Financial insurance company to benefit Catholic United members who attend St. Scholastica. Catholic United Financial offers a Post-High School Tuition Scholarship for Catholic United members, providing $500 to those attending a Catholic college or university. If a member who receives the scholarship enrolls at St. Scholastica, the College will match the amount and automatically award the student another $500 toward tuition. Scholarship eligibility criteria: Applicant must be an entering undergraduate student who will be enrolled full-time in the traditional day program at the College of St. Scholastica; Student must already be a recipient of the Catholic United Financial Post-High School Tuition Scholarship. CSS College Readiness Scholarship

The CSS College Readiness Scholarship is a $5,000 per year, renewable, scholarship for students who are actively involved in an income-based college readiness program. If you are unsure if you are eligible, please contact your Admissions Counselor. Eligible college readiness programs include but are not limited to College Possible,Upward Bound,Upward Bound Math and Science,Educational Talent Search, AVID Advancement Via Individual Determination, Torch,Black Achievers,College Readiness 21,Gear Up/Get Ready,Girls in Action,Indian Education,Latino Achievers,MEP,PACE Preparing to Achieve a College Education,Project Success,Transitions,Urban Debate League,Voyage.

CSS Legacy Scholarship

The CSS Legacy Scholarship is automatically awarded based on information you provide on your application to the College. It is 5% of tuition and is renewable each year. This scholarship is in addition to the student's Benedictine Scholarship. Scholarship eligibility criteria: Student must have a sibling, step-sibling, parent, step-parent, grandparent, or step-grandparent who graduated from The College of St. Scholastica; Student will be a domestic, full-time student in the traditional day program on the Duluth campus, starting in Fall 2015; Student must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) as defined by the College (minimum GPA of 2.4)

Award Amount: 5% of tuition

Ge-naadamaagoyan Native American Scholarship

he Ge-naadamaagoyan (that which helps you) Scholarship program is designated to provide significant scholarship opportunities to American Indian/Alaska Native students who demonstrate participation and commitment to advancing and/or preserving tribal communities traditions, which may include culture, language or history, and/or addressing contemporary social, economic or legal issues impacting tribal communities. The College is offering five scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $18,000 based on a students need level as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and will be renewable for up to three years after the first year. Students who have been accepted to St. Scholastica for Fall are invited to apply. Scholarship criteria: Applicant must demonstrate participation and commitment to advancing and/or preserving tribal communities' traditions, which may include culture, language or history, and/or addressing contemporary social, economic or legal issues impacting tribal communities. Applicant must be an entering freshman or new transfer student in the traditional undergraduate program at the main campus, with a cumulative GPA 2.75 or higher. Student will actively participate in regular meetings, events and activities of the Indigenous Student Alliance at the College of St. Scholastica. Student must submit the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.gov by March 1. Student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.

The John Baggs Memorial Scholarship was established to award scholarship funding to a student who demonstrates a commitment to community service and creative ability in the area of advertising, public relations or journalism.

Palmer Management Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior who will be enrolled as a full-time student at The College of St. Scholastica. Applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.2 or greater. Applicant must demonstrate evidence of financial need based on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Applicant must be a business intended major. Preference will be given to a female student from the Duluth/Proctor area or Northern Minnesota.

Sharon Labovitz Leadership Award

The Sharon Labovitz Scholarship recipient will be selected based on his/her academic credentials, extracurricular leadership activities, essay and recommendation form. The extra curricular activites can include a wide variety of things such as school, community, church and volunteer work. Leadership activities can be defined as developing a program, holding office, etc. Scholarship eligibility criteria/requirements: Must be a graduating Minnesota high school senior ranking in the top 15 percent of his or her class and has attained an ACT composite score of at least 27 Must have taken a leadership role in extracurricular activities. The scope of extracurricular activities can include school, community, church and volunteer work. Leadership activities can be defined as developing a program, holding an office, etc Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
