Goals

Students develop: • creativity and spontaneity by the exploration of theatre. • critical-thinking and problem-solving skills through acting and technical projects. • communication skills via acting and presentations. • the use of the essential vocabulary and processes of theatre. • explore the concepts of self, body and voice work, improvisation, acting techniques, and public performance. • demonstrate the practical application of gained knowledge through a variety of acting and technical projects and presentations.

Activities

This camp is an exciting experience where we stress the collaborative nature of live theater. Through teamwork, we create a safe environment that encourages participants to think creatively and expressively. Our goal is to teach, guide, and nurture the emerging theater artist as well as those interested in learning about the theater. This is a low-stress, high-energy experience. In addition to classes and rehearsal – all taught by talented instructors and guest specialists – the camp schedule includes nightly social activities. An Advanced Theater Workshop is being offered. This workshop provides an opportunity for students to focus on taking their experiences to a higher level.
