Gold Scholar Award

Preference is given to National Merit Finalists who declare the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities as their first-choice college by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation deadline.

Award Amount: $10,000 each year for four years
Renewable? Yes, requirements for renewal are shared with recipients when the scholarship is awarded.
Deadline: December 15th priority deadline for freshman admission application

Maroon and Gold Leadership Award

Awarded to Minnesota residents based on outstanding academic performance, demonstrated leadership, creativity, community involvement and contribution to diversity.

Award Amount: $12,000 each year for four years

Awarded to Minnesota residents based on outstanding academic performance, demonstrated leadership, creativity, community involvement and contribution to diversity.

Award Amount: $6,500 each year for four years

Iron Range Scholarship

Awarded to Minnesota residents based on academic performance, outstanding leadership, community involvement and contribution to diversity.

U Promise Scholarship

Eligible new freshman and transfer students enrolling for the first time in the fall of 2011 and beyond will receive a guaranteed, multi-year, U Promise Scholarship. *Eligible new freshmen will receive a guaranteed need-based scholarship, ranging from $570 to $4,000 each year, for four years. *Eligible new transfer students will receive a guaranteed, need-based scholarship, ranging from $640 to $2,000 each year, for two years.

Award Amount: $570 to $4,000
Renewable? Yes, with satisfactory academic progress, must continue to meet eligibility requirements and complete a FAFSA.
Deadline: March 1st priority financial aid application deadline
