This list of studet parent campus-based resources was compiled by the OHE Whole Family Coordinator to assist student parents in exploring higher education options in Minnesota.

  • Alexandria Technical and Community College, Alexandria - Kathy Pfeffer Honorary Scholarship ($250, single parents)
  • Augsburg College, Minneapolis - “Parent Grant” offers parenting students discount ($50/credit hr adult undergrad; $80/credit hr graduate)
  • Central Lakes College, Brainerd -  Brainerd Friends Scholarship Fund ($500, non-traditional single moms in 2nd year); Mary Barr Memorial Scholarship ($252, awarded to Practical Nursing student who is a single parent from Crow Wing County); Maxwell Douglas Adamek Best Endowment Fund ($500, student enrolled in the child development, home health or nursing program, must be a single parent with school-aged children); Robert and Valerie Miller Scholarship ($ amt varies, preference to a returning student or single parent)
  • College of St. Scholastica, Duluth - Modern Woodmen of America ($1000, must be primary caregiver to 1 or more children); Scholarship for Single Parents ($10,000, single parent in online degree program or campus program with significant online component)
  • Dakota County Technical College, Rosemount - Lube Tech Leadership Scholarship ($ amt not specified, gives preference to single parent applicants); Peggy Rasmussen King Memorial Endowed Scholarship ($ amt not specified, gives special consideration for single mothers who are first generation college students and demonstrate financial need); others give special consideration for applicants with "challenging life circumstances"
  • Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis - Women in Technical Careers scholarship (provides a $1500/yr childcare stipend to eligible recipients)
  • Hibbing Community College, Hibbing - Women Empower grant (provides funding for childcare expenses)
  • Inver Hills Community College, Inver Grove Heights - Gail’s Fund ($1000/yr, up to 10 students)
  • Itsaca Community College, Grand Rapids - Blandin Foundation provides child care grants once MN child care grant is exhausted
  • Martin Luther College, New Ulm - Bill & Jerry Patterson Grant (up to $3000 to pre-seminary students who are second-career or have children); By Grace Scholarship ($ amt not specified, Staff Ministry or Pastoral Ministry students who have dependent children, who are in good academic standing, and have unique gifts to be used in God’s kingdom)
  • Mesabi Range College, Eveleth - Darrell & Palachie Asselin Scholarship ($2000, 22+yrs old or caregiver to a child); Modern Woodmen of America ($10000, Primary caregiver to a child)
  • Minnesota State University, Mankato - Coplan-Donohue Single Parent Scholarship ($2500); Bonnie Teigum Scholarship ($1500); Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship ($2000, preference given to underrepresented populations including single parents); Mary Jane Young Scholarship for Re-Entry Women ($500-3,000)
