When you apply to Dunwoody, we will evaluate your transcript on a case-by-case basis. Each college's curriculum is different and as such we want to provide the correct fit into Dunwoody's curriculum. In order to ensure proper placement, we will be using Prior Learning Assessment. This process will help us determine your current knowledge and skill level and where you best fit into the Dunwoody curriculum. The last thing you need right now is to enroll in courses that may be too difficult or too easy, wasting your time and money.

What is Prior Learning Assessment?

Prior Learning Assessment is a process whereby our faculty can determine your current knowledge and skill level. You may be asked to spend some time with our faculty. They may chat with you for a while about your past work experience, ask to see projects that you worked on, have you demonstrate a skill in one of our labs, review some of your ITT homework assignments/projects or maybe have you take a test. There is no passing or failing in this process. Your knowledge and skill level will be determined and documented, and you will be given credit for the Dunwoody courses for which you have demonstrated competency. Due to the situation that you are facing, any fees for this evaluation will be waived by Dunwoody.

Dunwoody wants to make sure that you succeed and appropriate placement in the curriculum of your choice is the first step in that process. We are ready and willing to help and look forward to working with you.

ITT Transfer Pathway to The Iron Yard

The Iron Yard is an immersive code school with more than 20 campus locations across the U.S. It exists to create real, lasting change for people, companies and communities through technology education. The Iron Yard is a licensed post-secondary educational institution and offers third-party financing options as well as cost of living loans to cover living expenses incurred while taking a course.

The Iron Yard's Twin Cities campus offers 12-week immersive courses in Front-End Engineering and Back-End Engineering that prepare students to launch careers as junior-level developers after graduation. The Twin Cities campus currently offers several scholarship opportunities including a Diversity Scholarship, Community Forward scholarships and Tech Opportunity Fund scholarships.

Minnesota State University-Mankato is ready and willing to assist ITT students who were affected by the recent campus closures in Brooklyn Center and Eden Prairie Minnesota. We were concerned about your situation and wanted to make you aware of the many resources we have at our disposal to help you continue making progress towards your educational and employment objectives.

We have been in contact with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education regarding your transition. We strongly recommend that you start reviewing your educational and financial aid options by accessing the following website which provides consumer information related to your status as a former ITT student and opportunities to transfer to Minnesota State University programs.

Minnesota State University, Mankato is a highly rated regional, State University with comprehensive educational programming offered in south central Minnesota and with a variety of online, certificate and undergraduate degree completion programs in the metro area that may be applicable to your educational goals and employment objectives. With programs at Normandale Community College and facilities at 7700 France Ave. in Edina, we are in close proximity with your former campus locations and will work with you to help you complete your degree.

For students interested in pursuing their degree completion we have a broad range of resources that can be of assistance. For students who completed a portion their degree requirements, we generally suggest that students have completed their general education coursework as well as any pre-requisite to their major of interest prior to applying as a transfer student.
